"Change a Password" Help
I have 2 machines joined to a domain currently. When I do a Alt -- Ctrl -- Del and goto "Change a Password", I get 2 options. One option is "Change a network password" and the other is my AD login. "Change a network password" doesn't seem to link to anything I can change and it says "Provider\User name" instead of "Domain\User name" like usual. However on another machine when I goto "Change a password", my AD account is the first and only choice unless I click the "Other Credentials" where I am back to the same screen on the first computer. Is there a way to make sure that "Other Credentials" is not my default option when choosing "Change a password"?

To disable "Change a network password" try creating the following registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Providers\{3dd6bec0-8193-4ffe-ae25-e08e39ea4063} VALUE TYPE: REG_DWORD VALUE NAME: Disabled VALUE DATA: 1 Note: This is sometimes enabled by other Credential providers used mostly by Antivirus applications. A process monitor while trying to change the network password will help you identify if this is the case. You can also use the following policy for domain joined machines: Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Logon >"Exclude Credential Providers"
